Winter night sky of a black ink

By Alectozere

Oh winter, season of white
How you show me the stars in the sky of the night
Silence, Cold, be with me my friends
As I lay in the snow and let my worries end

Oh so peaceful this view of the moon
The stars, the lights, oh, this peaceful tune
In a forest asleep, far away cottage
Neighbours sleeping, sky teach me your knowledge

Oh so late at night, or is it early?
Does it really matter? I don't feel sleepy.
You have me in a daze, my eternal friends
But eternal are you? To me, you have no end

Blink, twinkle, far, far away
In the ink dark cold space, light this winter night sky
For now can I stay? Please, I don't want to see the day
Let it be night, stars, moon, I don't wanna say goodbye

I know you will come back, you are patient
But my time unlike yours is limited.
You fascinate me, your mysteries are flagrant
But I am only human, and life is undisciplined

I can't ask for a break, to stare at your light
I don't speak your language, can't hear your stories
I will meet you at my end, much to my delight
Oh, night sky of a winter, let me hear your melodies

I will cherish my life, cherish colors, seek laughter
But in my soul I will always prefer you, stars and moon
You who always appease me, forever and after
You who've been there, always, together

From the birth of our lives to our final demise,
Look out for us, we are dangerous
But some of us just want to join the skies
In their dance, their melodies oh so glorious
