There was a man, there was a boy

By RaheemaFKM

There was a boy who was a man, who lived a dream, who became a star
Who looked into the mirror glass and saw the world as what could be, instead of the cancer that it was

Humanity gripped him by the throat and wormed into his open heart
Humanity nursed upon his love and spread him out until he burst

There was a man who was a boy, who became a dream, who was born a star
Who rocked the world into the dawn and never stopped till the curtain dropped

Crowned a king, he ruled the air and showered sparks for future flames
Made a legend, he etched himself, his name and voice, in the hearts of all

There was a boy who was a man, who is still a dream, who was a star
Who fell and left a broken mold forever preserved by history’s book

There was a man who was a boy; there was a boy who was a man
Who lived a dream, and died a king, within a sea of shining stars
