Our Love

By RaheemaFKM

Our love was but a feverish dream, exhausted by heat, cut fleetingly short
We used up our luck first in meeting, then relied on pure chance until wrenched apart

Divided, we wandered and courted despair
Distanced, we stumbled, disconnecting our hearts

Our paths converged at one fatal point, surrounded by chaos, paralyzed by peace

The world was our tree, the city our nest
You flew in to roost, then flew out to sea

Farewell was the word you left on my lips, and never again I expected we’d meet

Our love was but a senseless gift, commissioned by fate to be snatched away
