...Toxicity

Tell me of a happiness so brave
We deserve to be saved
Honey-dipped sun rays of melodramatic dreams
We search forever for the breeze of that whisper once, gleaned
Embrace—As these arms around us we chase
Race into the desires of the one who beckons our embrace
Symphonies of prismatic passion erupt
My hands cupped
Awaiting the tears of your gentle rain
Flowing upon your body, embracing its nude terrain

I lay here every night—I know this dream isn’t right

I know it’ll never really be

It’s the only thing keeping me going, don’t you see?
I know our paths forked long ago as dreams drift
Now through what is left, I sift
Knowing you’ll never really be there
Knowing I’ll never really go anywhere
You will never see what your loss did to me
I’ll never let you know—Because I know you had to go
Escape beyond the confines of this broken heart and mind
I refect upon what we didn't become
knowing the happiness you will bring someone
I smile in contentment--Or is it resentment for I know now what I am?
Just another silent, broken man.

~Through self-reflection ere this gaze, my mind a tortured game for days. One-sided views of anchors past, for truth now views from looking glass. I sought to tell you every dream but heart and mouth were stitched at seams. This box of chocolates toxic taste, shall be savored, not a waste.~ This was marvelous & refreshing. Frighteningly daunting to accuracies I'm sure most have felt. This was such an amazing investment of time reading. Thank you & excellent job!
