The Broken Hearted's Anthem (Rose's Greatest Hits)

By RoseTheBrokenHearted

One more day,
and one more time;
to spend with you,
to get this right.

Here's to the years,
spent left behind;
and here's to the years
where love was blind.

How could you say
what you didn't mean?
My senses were down,
and yours were keen.

I danced along,
in the devil's fire.
Hand in hand,
to be your desire.

Nights were short,
and our days were long.
This is the story,
that wrote out our song.

Empty sheets of paper,
scream out your name;
like I did,
every night after you left.

Can't you come back,
with the November rain?
Take me back,
and remove all the pain.

This is my entry for the "Greatest Hits of Your Poems" contest.

Work Citations:
Stanza #1: From Stanza #1 of "Our Hell"

Stanza #2: From stanza #6 of "Here's To The Years"

Stanza #3&4: From stanza #3 of "Dark Lullabye For Two ft Josh Hosey"
(It's one stanza in Dark Lullabye For Two, but I broke it up to fit the pattern of the new poem. My apologies if not allowed, I didn't see anything against it in the rules)

Stanza #5: From stanza #4 of "To Be In Love With You"

Stanza #6: From stanza #1 of "Like You Did"

Stanza #7: From stanza #6 of "If I Say It, That Makes It Real"

    If I didn't know that this was a combination of poems, I'd think it was only one and a very deep and emotional one at that. Great entry! - 10
