Mogadishu, Somalia

By Roxxi

My dad was killed in Mogadishu

Air strafe bullets punched,
Murdering the October day.

Issue greens drenched in blood,
Soaking the sand below.

Crash sites rain service bodies,
Littering a land not their own.

Victory has some ugly spoils,
Belittling a populace through lenses.

This is very vivid and very sobering. I like nothing about the imagery or what it represents but the way you write it pulls no punches and leaves its mark on my solar plexus. I'm sorry for the loss of your father.
