I'm scared
Scared of not being enough
Of being too needy
Of loving him too much
Of wanting us too much
Of scaring him away.
Of being being left alone.
Scared I am not strong enough
If his happiness lies
Somewhere else.
I want nothing
But to see him smile.
To enjoy life and love
As he should,
As he deserves.
I let go of the reins
And close my eyes.
All the while hoping
To feel his arms around me,
To feel that euphoria
Of being chosen
Instead of being
A responsibility.
Just once is all I ask.
