...Burdens of the Broken

By SolApathy

…Her darkness never seems to end…
Sorrows unable to mend
Depression tends her fields of sorrow
Never does she look forward to tomorrow
I burn with the knowledge she can’t cope
She smiles with a burdened sorrow of no hope
She knows nothing of what sabotaged her smile
Physical pain – Mental despair
In her mind and no one seems to care
Stare at the shell - - Denying she lives in hell
Broken in the misery of the silence she suffers within
No energy to tell anyone again
She’s burning with despair
Unable to breathe this vile air
Broken – how can she ever mend?
Support of her peers
I see them just covering their ears
Rebuking her tears
If only someone would assuage her fears
Take a moment to identify
Sympathize
Help to heal
The beauty locked inside
Wishing desperately – She didn’t have to hide
She long ago died inside

Super sad. I think a lot of us have known someone who has, or watched someone actively, self destruct slowly, one thread at a time. So much wasted potential, if only those around that person had noticed before intervention became meaningless. An interesting read, thanks for sharing :)

It's worse than personal depression, watching someone else slowly unravel, knowing there is nothing to can do to stop the downward spiral--Knowing exactly where they are headed. THank you for the comment.

This was very soothing in a macabre reflection, I see passed the sadness; there are hilltops of opportunities within each of these feelings to embrace strengths in lessons, bolstering our own abilities to cope & move on with life before our deaths. Even if they are superfluous to how we feel. Thank you for weaving this sorrow so.
