Moonrise o'er the Lustrous Seas

By Samael Crowe

Whispering leaves in the soft breeze
Underneath celestial red skies
The eyes of night now come to sight
And Luna stirs to make her rise

Mighty howling of a lone wolf
A greeting for his pearly queen
Enchantment cast by a bow of lust
The fairest visage ever seen

The mundane obscured by her flames
Softly caressing his deepest thoughts
Ardour in veins till the moon wanes
The anger of the jealous gods

Thickening fog from nearby trees
The unseen bounds, the darkened seas
Ominous sounds make dread profound
Still he stares and his howls resound

She answers his calling in great delight
Slowly draws to him, all clad in white
They both now dwell under the spell
Which makes the poets’ lives sublime

Hope for merging in passionate night
The tender embrace, bodies entwined
Ardent kisses ‘neath naked skies
Attainment of the peace of mind

Skillfully struck Sam and for a while there I thought it was going to be a maritime marvel. Nevertheless immensely enjoyed your internal rhyming in many of your third line stanzas. Whether man or beast the call of the wild is alive! Cheers my friend - Dan
