Darkness in the Light

Emptiness, I feel so alone.
In a place I used to call home.
The ones I love
Have their backs to me.
I stand in the shadows.
Loving so deeply
Finally finding happiness
But no one to share it with.
The sun shines so brightly for me.
Now as I close my eyes and revel
In the warmth on my skin.
It tingles as I close my eyes...
And feel your fingers trace mine
The warmth envelopes me
And the peace within shines bright.
I pray the whole time....
To God to allow me to keep you.
To allow me to feel your love
Until my dying day.
To allow you to know my love
Until you can no longer draw a breath.
Allow our souls to hold hands for eternity
Never letting go
Walking hand in hand
Through whatever life (and afterlife) brings our way.
