Please Come Home

By Smiles

Still contoured to the shape of you
These empty sheets haunt me
I can't tell if I even sleep anymore
I just stare at the place you should be

Waiting

But you're never there
You're never coming home

These walls have become my tomb
So at least I'm encased in memories
And still I sit here

Waiting

But forever isn't long enough
You're never coming home

Every morning I reach for you
These empty sheets haunt me
It's been so long
But I understand why you left

No one wants to sleep next to a ghost

Hauntingly beautiful with a melancholic splendor. I loved this. It lingers. And the ending, "No one wants to sleep next to a ghost," is almost ambiguous. You think you know what this piece is about, and then you can flip it to mean so much else. It wasn't long, but it didn't need to be. You captured everything perfectly. Thank you for sharing. You're very inspiring.

Your words brought back some memories and anger..If anyone makes you feel like a ghost he is an ass to start with. Hugs to you.

They simply aren't here anymore, because I was like a ghost. Present, but never really "there". I really appreciate that you went straight to defending me though. It shows what a great person you are. Thank you threeroses.

I love the ending. Also, I relate to the whole thing. Loss is a very hard thing. Love just doesn't seem to end.

I was laying in bed looking at the empty space next to me and the words just started flowing. Thank you for reading I IS ME.
