stop

By vamp_111

she cries everynight
she starves every day
her wrists are covered
in large scars of dismay
her big smile
is just her frown upsidedown
she has been like this
all her life round
trying to hide
all of her pain
with a smile
a wave
and a simple 'ok'
her fingers are trembling
the bottle in her hand
tears rolling down her cheeks
she could barely stand
the blood and ink mix
as she starts to fall
the bottle drops
the pills fly
the note on the table
as she sais goodbye
she is dead now
the pain is gone
going yes gone
as she sings her very last song.

Stuff like this always strikes an intimate chord, not only my own brushes with suicide, but my girlfriend's, too. People tend to discredit depression as an illness like all the rest, like it's simply something you can "get over", it cheapens the struggle, I feel. Very heartfelt piece, write on. Scholar
