One-Way Ticket

By dwells

To hide the evil things that men will do
Injustice soon became their only friend
A constant state of war was all they knew

Their enemies: the many and the few
Inflexible – their actions to defend
To hide the evil things that men will do

Apocalyptic visions all came true
The worst of them assembled at the end
A constant state of war was all they knew

Their rocket ships from mighty nations flew
Like Noah’s Ark; with all that they could send
To hide among the stars, beyond the blue

But something stopped them then, without a clue
A greater force they could not comprehend
A constant state of death was all they knew

The sun would claim each vessel and its crew
That lake of fire for all who dared offend
A shining light on evil that men do
A blazing end was all they ever knew
