...Tempest

By SolApathy

As the Colossus of time stretches out the rhyme
I burn with the thoughts of my failings—Devine
Burn wickedly in robes of a tempest
My thunder -Contentious
Everything borne stripped from my being
My sanity –Fleeing
I witness in naked purity
Sins of this world's absurdity
Bane of contention
A broken man's redemption
Storms getting closer as I feel the thunder reign
A physical reflection of my externalized pain
My mirror of tears excises the lies
Perhaps tomorrow we’ll witness blue skies…

I like how there is a holding out of hope for a better day at the end of this even if so much of it is wrapped in negativity. I think that glimmer of hope is a beautiful thing to hold onto.

Another thought came to mind on this. We all have many thoughts that constantly come and go. This poem seems a turning point - no longer identifying with those thoughts as A definition of who you are, but something you can easily let go of. Scholar

There is a lot of vulnerability in this. The "mirror of tears excises the lies" - is especially poigniant. When it rains, the clouds clear, and we see the blue skies that were there all along. Scholar
