Two Promises

By HighlandHillbilly

Two promises I made the day I left,
They were so easy to make,
Always my personal motto,
My promises never to break.

I will see our baby being born,
I will watch over our girl on her wedding day,
I will keep my promise,
To watch over you every day.

Tell our baby girl I love her still,
Tell my mom I did my best,
For you my love is still strong,
Tell my father I will face the test.

I am so very sorry about this,
But in the end you will be fine,
I have to break a promise,
I will not come home this time.

A sad and common tale well-told HH. Sometimes we have to cut our losses; life can be long. Cheers my friend! - Dan
