Thorns and Roses
By midnights voice
.
.
Every thorn
On every stem
Comes thirsty
for the blood of sin
When you climb
to reach the blooms
You become pierced
and seal your doom
Roses grow best
in bloody soil
You must prune
You must toil
You must hoe
and bend your back
Roses with thorns
there is no lack

Love this so much. Reminds me of the quote. "He who wants a rose must respect the thorn."
This was beautiful.

The picture reminded me of stigmatas, gave this a bit more biblical feel ..."the blood of sin" ... thanks, mv
