Dream Alone

By Paradoxology

~ Dream Alone ~
(Good people never die without the necessary evil that is hope, but many
of them have died without any possible way of knowing that they have it)

Halls of hell in gilded harems
Children crying, demons flying
Blood on walls of solid stone
Keep out angels, dream alone

Screaming boys in brothel cages
Bleeding girls on world-wide pages
Lost, denied or never known
No one’s coming, dream alone

Trained like dogs to beg for dinner
Spread your legs, play dead and whimper
Mom and dad made this your home
Curse survival, dream alone

Father Darwin’s sacred altar
Secret torture, strength and honor
Rape a virgin, raise a toast
Pray for vengeance, dream alone

Pious moans of lust and carnage
Silenced by a child’s courage
Razorblade and blood on stone
Daylight fading, dream alone

Loss of profit, barely noticed
Buried down the junk disposal
Chopped to chunks of flesh and bone
Here with you I dream alone

there is much more here than meets the eye... Hollywood producers, sex trafficking and the hollow screams of the news agencies all come together to defile the innocent... if I'm too off-base with this remark, let me know... I will delete it... Be Well! ~worm~

No need to delete it, you're not too far off... but like you said there's more than meets the eye.

Oh this is just perfect. The rhyme scheme lenda to such a flow, the imagery is on fire... And you end this jam by wrapping it in the most beautiful of bows. This is exquisite fare. Welcome to the fold, Paradoxology, I look forward to reading more from you.

Yeah, when writing a poem like this it almost seems wrong to sugarcoat the subject matter with any attempt at depth of poetic beauty, but that's what I usually end up doing. I'm glad somebody liked it, thanks...
