even in the shade, it is sunny

By Candy Cain

A world without shadows wouldn't let us see it's depth
the sun creates the shadows
the contrast crafts the stories
Like feathered pens of poets past
or thoughts we lock away
or maybe experiences held too tight
what I see is what I write
with an ink I've made from shadows
and this little light of mine.

it's telling that your last line is a line from a children's "Jesus" song... it gave your piece a powerful impact for those who look beyond the "norm"... Kudos! ~worm~
