Some Days

By Lab Rat

The imagination runs like sludge
Stuck in the gears
The words come sporadic, lost between
Deaf ears
The satisfaction of sentences and quickness
Lost and gone by the way side
The drowning silences
In my head
Replaced the fast paced syllable blasts
And I'm a touch cynical, the loss of that thrill
The edge of spitting out rhymes
Kill that dull ache in the pit of my chest
The bottom of my guts, just my luck
That I'm robbed of half that makes me
Me
I speak half rhymes
And broken idioms

Lithium smiles shine
Just a tad dull and tame
And I'm fine, as long as I keep to
.8, or 1200 before bedtime

what used to come free flowing
Like a river
Now grinds to a halt, unforgiving
The will inside my mind, the silent whisper
So softly screaming for release

Some days its just not coming
Other's its a love song
on every channel i turn to

If only that desired flow submitted to our commands. Perhaps it knows what we don't...and arrives in perfected timing just as prophesies unfold when meant to. A very well played song I've heard, reminding me to patient myself and wait for the applause.

Parts of this killed the noise in my head today. For that I'm grateful.
