Invisible

By Alyson Chaines

Let me be invisible
No more than apparition
Untamed and only mythical
Beguiling in submission

A shimmer of uncertainty
An iron tinge in your mind
Negligent in clarity
An ache that leaves you blind

A spiritual eclipse
A sober haunting melody
It plays across your lips
In terminal eternity

Lose yourself in grief
A gleaming shard of peace
Breathe ethereal relief
And be charmed by soft release

A memory transparent
A refraction most obscure
No longer incoherent
Bewitching and impure

Forget the ties that bind
And let me come unwound
Just a soul that's left behind
By a light I never found

Incandescent in the dark
Shining and surreal
Both twinkling and stark
And less than your ideal

Let me be invisible
A gleaming, broken suicide
The truth is most unliveable
Doubt and tragedy collide

Fading and ambiguous
Awash in pure fragility
Staying inconspicuous
A study in futility

Enigmatic in reflection
Trapped softly in a blur
In gossamer perfection
To aware to be unsure

It ends in unrepentance
With diaphenous illusion
Severing dependance
And erasing the confusion

I felt this on a personal level. Maybe it's because this summed up how I'm feeling at this moment. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this. Thank you for posting it.

a beautiful expression of "ethereal"... it's like when you think you see something out of the corner of your eye and when you try and focus on it, it disappears... invisible... Kudos! ~worm~
