...Parable of an Angels' Decay

By SolApathy

God rays splay across the meadows of yesterday
Dare not look to tomorrow
You will see the results of my sorrow
Agony infects once deep desire
Fire in my eyes burns for all those that cried
Ashes now, all that tried
Hopeless smiles tease my lips
A place once of a blissful kiss
Dry and cracked –Nothing to bring it back
Look beyond these sunken eyes
Beyond the cloak of my trench coat disguise
The smile of casual lies hid the rot inside
Dared to pull upon the belt--You
 unraveled and unleashed
Sins of my fateful disease
Look upon the wings I spread-- you will witness
The price I paid for holding in the pain
Taste of copper once in these veins
Coats the feathers of this angels’ wings
Perished, crimson now turned black
The emptiness of no turning back

I found myself more fearsome than the black
My heart beats with a dark solitude
Black can’t abate
Consumed in the emptiness of despair
You suffocate in stagnant air
Of my words- “I don’t care”
I let unfurl my wings
Taking to the sky- Thick of those I made cry
Parables to be told
I revel in the sins of your own demise
I am the pain coursing through your once azure sky
My dark angels’ wings thwart the sun
Bringing my darkness to
…Everyone

Cursing one with darkness (well, IMO) and wings coveting the heavens ... there is much to be said about who decrees.

Your darkness. The soundtrack makes it that more affective. The darkness that pours out of your fingers is always alluring.
