...Visions of the void

By SolApathy

In the chase to erase dark feelings
Deeply entwined
Breaking through the barriers of my weak mind
I’ve tried the sweet waterfall of Jim Bean
Inhaled the vapors of Mary Jane
Yet the thoughts remain
Sometimes darker as the chemicals rearrange
Down the rabbit hole of infinite indecision
The more I self-medicate; darker the vision
Doctors can’t diagnose the ghosts that haunt my soul
They can only try to silence the voices that have their hold
But who says I want them to go?
The clarity they bring into the depth of my dreams
Brokered in reality—Challenge my faith & morality
This path I cannot weave

In the inequities of a life I never chose
Still I rose –Daring, above the chaos of life
Imbued
Deeply with the words you never used
I smile knowing I was just

It's like the chicken and the egg. The more you take, the more you need... but where does it begin? I always ask the chicken because the egg doesn't have a mouth. Still no answer... great write with superb flow.

They can recite medical jargon, but they can't connect with the people who they're supposed to be helping. I've dealt with plenty of those types of doctors, and it's never pleasant. A very eye opening poem, love. Your Rebs:).

I swear, the notes add another level to the work. I wanted to run my fingers along these words. This made so much sense.
