...Burdens

By SolApathy

If time stood still I’d take all the pills
If for a moment- I had the chance to reflect -In depth
I know I’d repay my debt with a razor to the veins
Just to avoid inflicting myself upon the world and myself
Can’t stop or the thoughts will regain control
Put me deep in that hole that only I know
Can’t go there again
Bury my sins with the burdens of the moment
And I’ll smile
Knowing the turmoil boiling just below
The world smiling back
Inept in reading the truth
hiding in the whispers upon my lips
Innocence of the darkness corrupted by my sin
  You don’t want to take a trip…
Below the surface seemingly calm
My inner-storm, intense
Behind the cloak I reminisce of the burdens I bring
In the emptiness of the words you sing
Trying to slay a sadness with smiles
Naïve of the depths of dejection
Rejection of myself as a soul
I’m just an empty vessel
Filled with the rage of 1,000 tigers in a cage
Don’t you see?
There is no hope left to free
I am no longer
…Me

Deep in the dejection / rejection and not quite bottomed perhaps Sol. The world has grown mean while we have grown older, and wiser. Cheers my friend! - Dan

Heartbreaking. The way you wrote this... There is tone to it that hurts.

So sad.... deeply, deeply, sad but so intricately said.
