...Visceral antagonism

By SolApathy

Into deep feelings that don’t have meaning
Visceral antagonism
Aggravated by my opiate addiction
Reflection of a time; when I was real
Not so well anymore; I fare
Feelings found me when logic went in abandon
In the mirror finding only raw desire to snuff my fire
My logic gutted in the misery of memories
Toying with me
Whispering in the insanity of a place I cannot be
In a room 4 walls and my impending doom
Upon the canvas with blood upon which I scrawl
Painful desires of release and my imminent withdrawal
Stripped of the drugs from these callous thugs
They watch through glass as my insanity is cast in blood and bile
All the while I see them smile
Safe in their room as I face my impending doom
My returning sanity is the enemy waiting outside this
…Room

A sense of coming back down to earth Sol; but only free to fall further, into the bottomless pit of the reality that awaits. Well-said and cheers! - Dan

Withdrawals are hell, and it should be enough to keep relapse at bay, but unfortunately it doesn't sometimes. Very well written, dearest. Queen Reb:).
