...Requiem of the damned
By SolApathy
Darkness unseen
My smile keen
Clothes kept and clean
Not a glimmer of my self-odium, seen
I shroud thoughts of thee
Under a cloak of serene
Save thy true self to see
In a mirror --darkly
Reflect in the terror of what I’ve become
Unable to be
Numb
Feeling the world at the velocity of light
Far beyond my ability to fight
Every sound a friction
Rubbing raw my ability to cope
The darkness spoke
Every feeling of everyone; the terror of my plight
Saturated with something sinister
Deliver the world to silence and serenity
Devine divinity
I am the requiem of the damned
--Lucidity breaks to the surface for one breathe
I whisper softly for you to end my plight
End me now before I snuff out your
…Light
My smile keen
Clothes kept and clean
Not a glimmer of my self-odium, seen
I shroud thoughts of thee
Under a cloak of serene
Save thy true self to see

Reflect in the terror of what I’ve become
Unable to be
Numb
Feeling the world at the velocity of light
Far beyond my ability to fight

I really like the occasional use of Shakespearean language in this beautiful poem. "End me now before I snuff out your light", that line was the proverbial punch in the face that made this write so powerful. I must take a bow to your talent now, dearest. Queen Reb;).

I miss your nightly posts. The night just never feels complete without them. This was haunting. That push and pull. I've always loved how you have your own style.
