Stardust Memories (villanelle)

By dwells

The angels fell like falcons from the sky
An omen Mars would come to understand
A deadly dive as silent as a sigh

The fairest of the seraphim comply
On cities of the planet, plunged as planned
The angels fell like falcons from the sky

A deluge did the holy hosts supply
As hammer blows they pummeled every land
A deadly dive as silent as a sigh

The mountains graveled with a cracking cry
The sun extinguished by a mighty hand
The angels brought the God they dared deny

Then deepest oceans drained to bottoms dry
While all were flayed by whirlwinds on the sand
A wounded world became the last to die

That mighty hand did swat it as a fly
Across the cosmos shattered fragments fanned
And still they fall like falcons from the sky
As shooting stars – we make a wish, and sigh

So powerful, an epic scene. I'd watch that movie a thousand times. Also well written, it glides all the way through.

Great poem,,reminds me of when Satan and his buddies got kicked out of heaven,,
