...Rebirth

By SolApathy

Desires, dreams, & moonbeams
Once paraded my soul
Long ago before the sickness took hold
Dark depths of depression and detailed obsession
Thoughts that couldn’t be mine
Dancing through a now broken mind
Chaotic rambling of half-thought, thoughts
Desires I cannot
Control
Losing what little hold;
battling every day for just a corner of my mind & soul
Paranoia of others’ thoughts I know they can hear
Why am I here?
Violence breaking out in my mind I can’t define
Who are you and why are you stealing my thoughts?
Who am I and why do you tie
ME DOWN
Inject me with a thorazine dream
I hear them talking
“He’s getting worse it seems”
“Perhaps high voltage will clear up some things?”
Feel a burning as lightning flashes beyond my sight
Breaking the last of my will
Screams permeate as acrid smells entice my mind
They went too far this time
Feel myself floating free
I’m 10
Can we just play again?
As the darkness absorbs my sins
Let me begin
…Again

The dialogue was alarming in the imagery provoked Shawn. The institutional setting all too real. Be well my friend and cheers! - Dan

Very vivid. I love the story aspect of this. From beginning to end it never let up. It's sad how often things like this can happen.
