Garden of Faded Roses

By Shaded_Iris

Captive of the mind.
Forcibly kept inside. While
Brown eyes seek answers
Deep in a land of faded roses.

The chains are stainless.
Binding my soul to this world.
It was in the garden when
I first encountered the cold.

All senses officially frost bitten.
Fingertips without privilege
A tongue that speaks no words.
Behind darkness, in the garden of the faded rose.

Dancing a delicate dance.
Dreaming a different dream
The only thing held by empty hands
Is more emptiness it seems.

This earth around me spins
And the sun has fully set
Love is like a season and
winter's all that exists.

Whispers on a breeze
Abandon every breath that's breathed
Passing through the trees made hollow.
Alone, void. Sorrow spills from a beating heart

Unnoticed, tears reminiscent of rain
Fall from an emotionless face.
Not wiped away and without love.
A faded rose remains untouched.

Trapped in a vessel created by God from dust.
Realizing the garden of faded roses is no place that you'll find love.
