..Crown of Illusion

By SolApathy

Into the insanity that which I am bound
Wearing this crown
I am the king of drunken sorrows and forgotten tomorrows
Let the weed; bleed me of the memories I want not to be
Into this depth of dreams that cannot be
I see
The failure in me
To see you weren’t ready to be
Broken of the crutches that helped you stay free
I burned you in misery to suit my sorrow
Keeping from you the drink that let you forget tomorrow
Yesterday, and today I kept the plant away
Pretending to protect you from going
Astray
Knowing never, I wasn’t clever
I severed the bond that made us see; together
what we could be
I lost you to the blade of reality hitting hard
Now I drink to starve
Myself of the memories of my illusion
No confusion in the blade
In the sorrow, I feel
I cut myself if only
...To heal

I knew of some people who were so fucking miserable that bringing others down was their only joy. They create such wonderful illusions to draw us in just to slowly destroy us. Those type of people must be purged from our lives pronto. Eloquent as always, dear. Queen Reb:).
