The Remnants

By Redemption

Long since hath I sat down
To reflect on upon time
And things that once were

The vivid fires that once burned
Charring all that was thrown into the fire
To fuel what once was

The images of a thousand thousand marching forth
The sounds of despair long forgotten
Hidden, buried, a shadow of once was

Gazing on the empty table
Barren of ink and parchments
Only the memories remain of once was

A grin then! To the times that dared exist
Better to have lived and dreamed, Than to have nothing
Except the ghosts of once was.
