Heart of desire
Keeps my fire from ever burning out
Cracks and scars
When you open the door
Backhand my face for seeking embrace
Slam me into the darkness
Caressing your face with my smile
You scream I’m your…
Antipathy of life
I am your child
You only see regret
Trying to forget
I was ever in your life
I want so deeply to take your darkness away
All you can see reflects him
I open the wound deep within
With only my whisper I scar your soul
I only want you to heal
I feel
The only escape you have
End me
So you are
…Whole

This shook me in a way that your work has never done. It really made me remember my step-mom and all of the horror that she inflicted on me. I would have loved her like a second mother if she would've let me, but she couldn't get past her own sociopathic control issues. We try to keep others from suffering, and that's what sets us apart from people like her. A very galvanizing poem, dearest love. Queen Reb:).
