to the pleasure garden's grove

By out there

2 clerks bent at the nose
one twisted left
the other right
lefty restless on a red carpet night
Do I, don't I, dice decide
cat's coarse tongue flaps, to lap
the spoor of a muse less mind
a whisper in his witless ear

they say your western wall it never falls
like your soul it never dies
i say you skirt your daily walls
you get one shot so down it vital
let life's liquor court your vessels

posing high on a self-love podium
she'll sugar her wounds for all to taste her
lace her words so her taste won't taper

and i feel i could unpeel in sunbeams
flex my spine and flail white light
dancing fountains spring awake me
splash-water cleanse these surrogate eyes
but don't think now it's time to go

where corsets cling to scented skin,
ribbing tinker needle ink
we'll hang our veins let angels climb
a face plus beauty born to shine
while the dullard's loveless gripe does grip
time's great leveller jilted pride
palsied sucked through cypress lips
a whisper in his witless ear

'to the pleasure garden's grove we'll go, right now
clerk right, let's go let's go..'

Interesting joy ride! I like this one very much, it had the sense of a wise, experienced, humorous soul speaking in slightly coded language...self-possessed enough to care less whether the meaning was grasped or not by others. Very enjoyable read! Ciao, T/S Scholar

Yet again a wonderful poem. I keep rereading it and I uncover more and more in the narrative. You have so much to say and such a unique way of saying it. The sporadic rhyming, including the occasional internal rhyme, gives this piece a rhythm and lyrical flavor, making it surprisingly easy to read. The story told is also excellent. I believe it is about the speaker's struggle with deciding whether or not to pursue a woman that probably isn't good for them. I'm still finding pieces to the puzzle every time I read it, though. Again, excellent job my friend. 10/10
