Dust.

By Dreamless

As we twist and struggle
Seeking synthetic sensuality
We stitch our hearts together
Living our afflictions vicariously

Through each other, we suffer
Ripping ourselves apart
Frantically rebuilding broken bonds
Cutting and shredding feelings
Memories fade and time melts away

The hourglass cracks
The sand seeps out;
A desert forms between us
Never ending --
Ever seeking distorted desires
And our wounds are never mending

Lost in what was consciousness
But is now a desolate plain of arid dreams
We're wilting and crumbling
Clawing at the walls of our minds
As we rust and return to dust
The breeze can carry us perpetually
Through the eternity we swore to one another

I am touched by this work, in more ways than I had imagined I would be. From the first word, to the very last, I am in love. Thank you for the read!
