Of All Other Genocides

By Eadgar Anton Crowe

A child cries, a mother dies
The father up in smoke
Of all the other genocides
This one travels home

Marry me in agony, cherish my descent
From magick to tragic,
A quiet, unprotested form of rent

Make me believe in hopeless things
To dull my dying nerves
I fall in line and die in mass
Along with other herds

Crucify my burning limbs
Alight with years of work
The constant pounding of my heart
Into worthless earth

Charge my age with imprisonment
And blame my feral bed
My mind, a crime
Against the walls
You've all but built in my head

A simple uncontested truth
The fantasy of youth

The young die early now
A world of hate lay in wait
Ambush for love's first fruit

Wow. That was...awesome for lack of better word. That first stanza had me hook, line and sinker. Had to read the whole thing twice. Superb write friend, keep it up.

The first stanza is quite strong and reminds me a bit of the way one would tell a nursery rhyme. I really enjoyed the flow of this in its entirety and the natural pauses you gave in places.
