color blind

By beamish

When I offer a hand does it matter what skin the color is

If I kneel to pray with you when your soul is broken can you see past my complexion

You my friend may not even know who I am
But peace be with you through these days of pain

I won't tell you my race or my religion
Instead I'll work to soften the hate that fills our days

In hopes that soon the blood that cries from my eyes over every dead man found on our streets
Will be replaced with a flower to celebrate our unity in ONE humanity

See the color isn't the issue
The problem is our minds

We hate before we look for love and we drop body's instead of shaking hands

So I say this for all mankind
Please become color blind and find a gray stranger and ask them to join your race of colorlessness

Let push back against the status quo and leave hate behind in our new time of people
not
Us and them or black and white

Good message. Well said. Crazy that it's STILL even an issue.
