Just... Never

By Queazenart

The ropes on your wrists are hurting mine.
Your crystal eyes pierce through my skull.
It's uncomfortable to feel with sweaty hands
So I don't want to feel anything at all.

I've never noticed this weight on my shoulders,
Or how dry my lips could be.
I want to say it's you,
But it's entirely me.

The cigerette burns on the film of your life
Are annotations that we've all made.
Side notes and conversations
About your body and appearence.

I won't let myself be a bruise.
I can't be a hidden scar.
I will never be someone to fear.
I will never see you as an object.

Never again

A great poem with a solid ending. Regret can be karma or it can make you a better person for acknowledging mistakes. Well done friend. - 10:43

I like how this reads..not forced .. Palatable for want of a better word. I got regret and taking responsibility for mistakes made and I reckon that's a pretty good start. I like the cigarette line .. Good metaphor. Nice write.

Thank you. "Palatable" is not a word I'd associate with anything I write, but I'm glad you couldn't find a better word XD
