The Descent

By Anarchist

Dwelling within the depths of haunts
Where the days are dark and nights akin,
The nail scratched walls echoed shrill
Screams of souls trapped in the abyss.
Cluttered clusters of bones below
Shared the tale of the ones who fell
Victims of this wretched pit
Left to rot in morbid hell.

Ray of light carrying miraged hopes
Of freedom and return, ah the irony
Look up to the vague trail of ones denied,
Buried by dust and sands of time.
The stark addiction to this singularity
Or the weightlessness of the fall
On a path to promises unfulfilled
For the fallen, for one and for all.

Pitch dark road to depths unknown
Greeted by flutters of winged satan's spawns,
Swarm around glorifying demise
Paradox of void where all hope is gone.
Where fear lurks above, pipe dreams below
The fallacy of the hole remains consistent
No matter how much you try to climb out,
You still fall back down in an instant.

While others fell too and you're not alone
For among the angels, brightest he shone
Into this hole, even the brightest fell
Eternally exiled to reign in hell.
