Breathless
You leave me trembling
Lightheaded and pulsing with desire
Aching with need
As you turn away
And that long ago buried
Seed of disappointment
Blooms fresh with life
It’s colors of Despair
And emptiness of soul
Petals too heavy
To blow in the breeze
On its way to the sun
My weak petals crumble
beneath the sole of your shoe
The soft earth swallowing
my seed once again
Waiting for the next rain.
