an earthly presence

By bluegypsea

black winds
spiral into oblivion
as dew drops evaporate
like yesterday's tears,
staining the innocence
of a wretched soul;
midnight beckons deliberately,
my calculated conscience is sweating
profusely so;
a disheartened sense of peace
irrevocably begins to stagger in
like a late spring breeze,
begging for pardon from
the screaming shadows.

    I really thought it was witty to describe your conscience as "sweating profusely"...I also like the clashing imagery of the "disheartened sense of peace" staggering in. Great job! Ciao, T/S Scholar

    Thank you. I often love using oxymorons in my poetry. :)
