Bitter Caterpillar

By DuchessofDoom

You think I’m gentle but remember this
Even butterflies are carnivorous
Tear my wings and stab my eyes
I’ll wrap myself in a cocoon of crystallized tears

And destabilize

Encased in that protective shell of grief
Suspended by a brown and withered leaf
I’ll burst in brilliant fashion, outward defiant
No longer little Rhopalocera compliant
And eat your fresh flesh with a grin
The scar forever burned into my skin

Evokes an image of "beautiful angst". I really enjoyed reading this... and especially the line "I'll wrap myself in a cocoon of crystallized tears". Brilliant!
