Freedom (Our Blood)

By LovelyUndead

All our lives we’ve been told to lie down
In the soil so swollen with blood and tears
And hate
Be thankful for our freedoms
That we built on the lives of the lost
Mothers go without their sons
And fathers without their daughters
So that our money, oil, and pride were well secured
We crash to our knees and bow like animals
To tyrants that believe they have our interest in mind
They sit upon their thrones built of our bones
Cemented with our money and our time
And parade our skin to the world
