Mother

By aquiouss

Mother is a euphemism for god
written on the cell walls and dilapidated souls of parents houses

carved on flesh that says No ,
on hands extended in want

In the tears of remembrance,
neglected by priests in the hallways of Yes.

Mother,

the word most etched in lockets
Scorched on skin with ink with tears, or hope

designed to empower
destined to forget

The cause of his pain,
or her comfort,
my lost words
competing with the wind
In the echo of wars,
kissing the blood stained sores of my knees

Mother
Pressed in sand,
carved in monuments,
read in tea leaves,
left in the abandoned garages of the asylum of the soul,
seen in the crusts I threw away,

Mother,
the word most whispered in the dark,
mother a word screamed through tears,
in broken sentences on toilet floors,
written with regret on the white bedsheets of the newly dead

Mother
A word sewn into the moths of emotions by mildew,
disintegrated by shapes of clouds,
bashed into the fruit you forced into my lunch box,
lingering on the foam of my lips,
etched in shame on my dirt stained clothes,
while reading details in my sweat, cigarette stench,
marred by my weak choices

Mother
culminating unions of greed,
the source of much anger,
the coldest winter,
the name of his boat...
the ice in my drink

mother..
her alleviated suffering,
or her cause of distress,
his scattered palaces of hate,
reunited by the pain of empty hands or houses or hearts

Mother,
found in the periphery of the universe

Mother,
the wolves of the eternal now
The stench of my longing
the word to end all words
