Plastic

By Magdalena

I was a metaphor staining your lips
a blueprint left for another time
a chance parting in a place never met
and I've solved all of the mysteries
that left me dangling from your rope
the secrets were a waste of me
the anchors only temporary

I never told you
Tuesdays always feel comfortable
it is my favourite day to wake up in
so I keep it for myself
it's like being wrapped in velvet
and I don't need anyone
midnight is music and ice-cream

I never want to sleep before then
and I forgot how lonely feels
even though I am mostly alone
I used to crave for what I imagined
-was something else
it wasn't terminal and I recovered

Again, I think the background music adds quite an exquisite layer to your words. "Midnight is music and ice-cream"...that is a fantastic line! Ciao, T/S Scholar

What a cool poem. It's got a lot of room for interpretation, I feel, which is awesome. I read it as a break-up poem, but I could see it getting twisted the other way, too.
