Treasures Resting in the Rough

By lupus tenebrae

Relics; dust-clad treasures
Unearthed from attic heights, their
Must like the vestige of golden years left to
Mingle at the pulpit in
A phantom congregation. Sunlit tendrils
Glint through the scrambled tint of faberge, in-
Effable and resting in the rough whilst saccharine

Scents cling like stubborn perfume; fresh-baked
Ambrosia kneaded by the
Lent hand of Heaven, descended from its
Everlasting light.

I thought this might be about golf from the title alone, so was duped into a chuckle as I read onward Wolfie. I wonder now if church rummage sales are something special in the Lord's eyes - apart from generating money for worthy causes. Beware the money-changers in the temple and cheers! - Dan
