Shame

By ColorMeToxic

Broken souls are cast aside,
as broken objects often are.
brace myself, or run and hide,
or wish upon a shooting star.

and I feel shame when I should not.
It hurts inside, and won't submit
I plead myself, I am wrought
I need to heal...I can't commit.

Shame is such a strong emotion,
one which runs rampant here.
Self perceived, life form demotion...
wishing we could disappear.

I too feel this way, Beth....for very real reasons, and for no reasons at all.

  • A former member wrote: this falls under the category of loamentation poetry that is always difficult to write but is always flavored with the sense of gripping realities. I hope this was from imagination but if not, I honor your valor and praise the quality of your pen.
