full auto faith

By Lab Rat

I lost my immortality
    at twenty seven
(sitting on a barstool)
seeking out shot glass divinity
crystal glass washed in hues of brown and ice cubes uneven

every sip shook me
Every scar throbbed to the bone
    tickled on a loaded spine
(hallucinogenic  laden self argue)
Double barrel make believe
Marching in a shotgun parade to my hollow point serenade
Shaken

but, I found spiritual morphine
Numbing the raw pain
    to dull an ache
(unanswered prayers)
That old god throwing me to the thorns
Crown upon my brow and a stake for each vein
I'm repentant
