Hedge apples, imparted
to
the earth below;

lime-green flesh, furrowed varicose in
roadmaps,
the musk of their pungent

meat
just barely masked by autumn
...

A piece I'd thought up while finding hedge apples on our road, they tend to dredge up a lot of pleasant memories.
