Hedge Apples

By lupus tenebrae

roadmaps,
the musk of their pungent

meat
just barely masked by autumn
...
footnote; fleeting, gone.

A piece I'd thought up while finding hedge apples on our road, they tend to dredge up a lot of pleasant memories.
