Homeless Shelter

By mikeygreenleaf

Rather stay in with my words
Than think or feel today
I'll hang them in the air so that
The sky is not so gray
Or better yet I'll use them
In the way that I know best
Adorning them with metaphor,
And dressed at my behest
My head is home to many
Lonely misdirected thoughts
Searching for their purpose
Looking to connect the dots
My heart would gladly guide them
Every way 'cept which is right
And they're coming in to warm
Themselves by trash can fire light
But these orphans are my friends
The beggars, liars, lepers, thieves
Have no single thing to lose, and
So they teach me how to grieve.

Great opening here as my mind locked into your setting. I like your in-depth nature, and I can appreciate/respect a strong visual. -Bows Scholar
