Untitled #39

A king's ransom for the hearts that grieve
that they too might find belief
I sing a song to a love that's far
under the embrace of an evening star
Weave for her an enchanting tune
set adrift on the rays of the morn
Over the mountain glades
into the rivers, brooks, and streams
a whisper from the garden of my dreams
Smiling as the night appears
safe away from all my fears
Unbeheld raptures awakening
    quickening my shaking form
Soothing and enduring
ever alluring like a passing storm
My heart warming,
charmed by a kiss from her lips
Honeysuckle and jasmine
night sage and mandrake can't compare
The scent of roses spilling
as I dare to breathe her air
Stirred from my solitary pursuit
    of madness and despair
A zephyr and butterfly wing beating
    standing strong and not retreating
Armed with the silent sounds of truth
    the headstrong passion
        of misplaced youth
Set fire to the battlements
    quiet the beating drums
Unfetter the banners
    and let the lamps burn
Amazement at the wonders
    my darkness put asunder
A doe-eyed vision safe and sure
Come to me, embrace me
let us fill our loving cup
        splashing from the river
            drinking every draught
Lingering in the sound
    of trumpet, harp, and lyre
Hand in hand across the land
    setting bonfire after bonfire
New hearts intertwined
like the knotted ropes holding tight
        this midnight ship's white sails
Wide eyed and star struck
    on the winds of destiny
Whisper to me your heart's endeavors
give to me solace that can't be measured
On o'er turned scales
    of wheat, silver, and gold
Fingertip tracing the fading lines
    a kiss upon your palm
Would you be my balm?
    as we sway together
        beneath the starry skies
One look in your eyes I will know
as the feeling continues to grow
A song all encompassing
    bloating out the siren wail
        shoving away the banshee scream
that breaks the night so serene
Oblivious to the sadness
that once held me so tightly and complete
        as a stranger among strangers
    on a busy city street.
Hearken to the pounding in my chest
palm to palm, breast to breast
        staring into each other's eyes
Carried aloft on passion's climbs
beyond the words, far from the rhyme
Exploding together,
as our new constellation does arise
Collapsing and not pulling away
    sleeping in our lover's haze
Arising together in the glory
    of another blessed day.
