Mechanical Messengers - Angel III: Decay

By Mad Hatter

-Heaven_

I'm a mechanical angel and I sit back and watch
As the world sits back and watches
The world...through a screen.

_

Each day goes by as I watch the T.V.,
My mind, before long, goes blank,
I let the man on the news tell me all I need to know,
And let him be the reason my mind has sank...
Let his words be my mental restraint.

God blessed us with brains,
But now all we have are those remains,
Of the beauty that once was,
Eroded by the things that this world does.

We open our mouths,
But have nothing to say,
We sat back too long,
Now our minds have decayed...
Now we will fade.

-

I'm a mechanical angel and I sat back and watched
For too long, the world sat back and watched,
Now the world has decayed.

Nicely written. The world is going to hell in a hand basket from prolonged apathy, that's what I got out of this. Keep writing.
